Europe faces some great challenges in the decade ahead. Whether it be accelerating the energy transition, harnessing the promise of emerging technologies or financing the continent’s defence and security needs. Equally, we've seen a rising energy to make the UK and Europe competitive over the next decade. Against this backdrop, the Milken Institute’s Europe team aims to bring its global network of investors, policymakers, thought leaders and philanthropists together to identify innovative solutions and channel global capital to scale their impact.
Our approach is two-fold: we leverage the power of the wider Milken Institute’s global convenings and communities to create a channel for regional leaders to share their challenges and explore solutions with our wider network. Secondly, our local team convenes relevant experts in curated roundtables and workshops to diagnose issues in depth, understand the barriers and opportunities for capital deployment in critical areas, and propose policy changes to unlock investment and growth.

The Investing in Europe's Competitiveness Initiative
A series of convenings and policy initiatives with three central goals: to attract new investment in the decarbonisation of infrastructure, to close the innovation tech gap, and to invest in Europe's defence and security priorities. Participants and supporters will identify barriers to progress in these areas and design creative solutions that can meaningfully address the challenges and realise the opportunities of the European economic competitiveness.
Networks
Throughout the year, we regularly bring together members of our network through our spring and autumn gatherings, roundtables for female leaders and issue-focused sessions. Whether it is a roundtable discussion focused on luxury and artificial intelligence or a gathering for female leaders to discuss innovation and leadership, these convenings unite the Milken Institute's wider network in Europe.
