
Daniel Baigent
Daniel Baigent is a senior associate for policy and research at the Milken Institute, based in London. His work focuses on economic development, industrial policy, and trade.
Before joining the Milken Institute, Baigent served as research and analysis lead at the UK Department for Business and Trade. He also spent over five years at New Zealand’s Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, where he published research on trade diversification, developed long-term sectoral insight briefings, and led analysis on the impact of COVID-19 on regional labour markets. He has also held analytical and policy roles at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and the Ministry of Education in New Zealand.
Baigent earned a master of public policy from the University of Auckland and a bachelor of arts in geography and philosophy, also from the University of Auckland.
