Simon Radford

Simon Radford is Director for Policy and Programming for the Milken Institute in Europe. Before joining the Milken Institute, Dr Radford enjoyed a varied career as an academic, strategy consultant for both the public and private sectors, and in investment advisory. He’s also worked in UK local government as an elected representative, as Finance Cabinet member for London's largest Borough and previously chairing the London Borough of Barnet’s £1.7bn pension fund. He leads the Institute's 'Investing in Europe's Competitiveness Initiative', bringing together global investors, subject-matter experts, and policymakers to craft solutions to unlock investment into three priority areas crucual to Europe's productivity growth and economic resilience: infrastructure and decarbonisation, closing the innovation and tech gap, and investing in Europe's defence.

Radford received his PhD from the University of Southern California, a Masters in Public Affairs from Brown, and did his undergraduate work at Peterhouse, University of Cambridge.

He lives in London with his wife and two young boys. When not working or being involved in his community, he spends his time watching soccer as a season ticket holder at Brentford Football Club in the English Premier League.
