Financing a Sustainable Water Future in the Asia-Pacific (Invite only)

-

Approximately 2 billion people in the Asia-Pacific region lack access to adequate water and sanitation. COP27 saw the Asian Development Bank announce a $200 million goal for its Water Resilience Program through 2025 to support water and sanitation resilience and security in the region. With an estimated $60 billion required annually for capital investment in water-related infrastructure and services, establishing sustainable water management and access in Asia will require public-private collaboration and the mobilization of local resources. How can regional cooperation and transboundary water agreements improve the health of shared watersheds? How are major corporations in the Asia-Pacific region integrating water stewardship into their sustainability strategies? What are the latest advancements in desalination, satellite imaging and monitoring of water bodies, or other technologies most suitable for implementation in the region? To create a cohesive water management strategy, how can national policies be integrated with regional initiatives?
