The Growing Need for Digital-Centric Mental Health Strategies

-

Mental health and substance use disorders remain a significant issue for individuals and employers in SE Asia. Young people have been especially affected, as they were more acutely impacted by the pandemic and live under heightened pressures of social media usage. Countries throughout SE Asia have increased their support for the broader field of mental health related programs and treatments, exemplified by a key placement on Singapore’s national agenda and similar investments by governments and private investors across SE Asia. In the United States and elsewhere, employer awareness and adoption of digital health tools are being integrated as part of a whole-of-society approach. Digital-centric strategies are poised to play a greater role in treatment and well-being. What can we learn from innovative technology, investments, and policies, and how can these efforts be used across the region and the world?
