William (Bill) Lee is chief economist at the Milken Institute. He leads the Institute’s effort to develop collaborative policies to improve access to and the functioning of capital markets, strengthen financial stability and the soundness of financial institutions, and foster global macroeconomic, financial, and regulatory conditions to bolster job creation.

Brock Smith, PhD, is an associate director on the research team at the Milken Institute. His research has focused on environmental economics and natural resource economics, particularly the economic and social effects of natural resource booms.

Leilani Jimenez is an associate with the Research Department at the Milken Institute. In this role, she supports the department's research portfolio in health economics, regional economics, and international finance.

Bumyang Kim is an associate director of health economics for the Research team at the Milken Institute.  He specializes in data-driven evidence-based quantitative research by applying real-world data analytics to the healthcare delivery system.

Katherine Sacks is an associate director in health economics on the research team at the Milken Institute. Her research concerns health equity, health disparities, and the social determinants of health, focusing particularly on adverse maternal birth outcomes, as well as the effects of the social safety net on measures of population health.

Maggie Switek, PhD, is a senior director on the research team at the Milken Institute. She heads all projects related to economic growth and opportunities across regions and communities in the US and abroad.

Andrew Friedson, Ph.D., is director of Health Economics for the Milken Institute’s Research Department. He heads Research Department projects concerning health, health care, and related sectors.
