Benjamin Roberts, PhD

Senior Associate, SPARC, Milken Institute Strategic Philanthropy

Benjamin Roberts, PhD, is a senior associate in the Science Philanthropy Accelerator for Research and Collaboration (SPARC) team within the Strategic Philanthropy pillar at the Milken Institute. He has a deep understanding of the research ecosystem, including scientific funding policies and processes. At the Milken Institute, Roberts focuses on programs that strengthen the biomedical research enterprise.

Before joining SPARC, Roberts worked in the National Institutes of Health Office of Extramural Research, where he coordinated strategic communications and outreach activities to support federal research policy initiatives. Roberts earned his PhD in biochemistry and biophysics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed postdoctoral training at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. He is based in the Milken Institute’s Washington, DC, office.
