Justin B. Smith is the Co-Founder and CEO of Semafor, the world’s fastest growing independent global news company. Justin launched Semafor with a simple vision: to build the most transparent, intelligent, global news product for leaders across the world. Semafor’s mission is to provide this audience a common, sophisticated news source that is trusted across ideological and geographic boundaries. Justin was the CEO of Bloomberg Media from 2013-2022 and spearheaded its digital and global transformation. He was previously President of Atlantic Media, where he revitalized The Atlantic and co-founded Quartz. He also served as President of The Week magazine, and led corporate strategy at The Economist Group.

He received his B.S. from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, is an Aspen Institute Henry Crown Fellow and a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
