Goodwin Gaw is the founder and managing principal of Gaw Capital Partners, a global real estate private equity management company commanding over US$12.8 billion of assets under management. It has raised eight commingled funds targeting the Greater China and Asia Pacific regions, Vietnam and the United States since 2005, along with a pan-Asia hospitality fund, while providing a separate account service globally. Goodwin founded Downtown Properties in 1996 and serves as managing principal. He's especially interested in repositioning distressed heritage properties. This includes the renovation of the iconic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and conversion of over 456,000 square feet of empty historical buildings, including the acclaimed Douglas Building, into hip residential lofts in downtown Los Angeles.
