Giselle Leung
Giselle Leung is senior director at Milken Institute Strategic Philanthropy, where she leads the Philanthropy Leadership Collective (PLC). Drawing on a career focused on leveraging the power of capital and collaboration for transformative impact, she brings this expertise to spearhead the PLC as a platform that inspires, guides, and activates philanthropists and corporate funders in strategic giving through communities, research, and advisory services.
One of the early field builders in the impact investing market, Leung was a member of the founding and executive team at the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN), helping build the organization from a start-up in a nascent industry to a globally recognized voice. She led the first-ever global community of leading impact investors, designing tailored activities to foster knowledge exchange and investor collaboration. She also established strategic partnerships with foundations, global firms, and governments that expanded the GIIN’s international footprint and advanced research and tools to inform impact investing strategies across the capital spectrum and issue areas.
Beyond her impact investing leadership, Leung has engaged corporate leaders in India, China, Colombia, and Mexico to advance inclusive business models in agriculture and financial services through a start-up initiative. She also advised women artisans in rural Panama as a Peace Corps volunteer. Earlier in her career, she worked in investment advisory for endowments and family offices and strategy consulting.
Leung holds an MBA and a master of international affairs from Columbia Business School and the School of International and Public Affairs, and a BA in psychology from Harvard University.
