Sen. Ted Cruz represents over 30 million Texans in the U.S. Senate as a passionate fighter for limited government, national security, and economic growth. Sen. Cruz is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School. He is a former law clerk to Chief Justice William Rehnquist and former Solicitor General of Texas. In 2012, Sen. Cruz was elected as the 34th U.S. Senator from Texas, and in November 2024, the people of Texas re-elected him to the U.S. Senate.
Sen. Cruz serves on four committees in the 119th Congress: the Senate Foreign Relations Committee; the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee; the Judiciary Committee; and the Rules Committee. He is the Chairman of the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Federal Courts, Oversight, Agency Action, and Federal Rights on the Judiciary Committee, and the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Africa and Global Health Policy in the Foreign Relations Committee.
