Iván Duque Márquez is the former President of Colombia (2018–2022) and a globally recognized leader on democracy, sustainability, and geopolitics. Elected at age 41, he became the youngest elected President in Colombia’s modern history and led one of Latin America’s most reform-driven administrations, advancing economic recovery, environmental protection, energy transition, migration policy, and democratic governance. Today, he is widely engaged in academic and policy leadership. He is a member of the World Leaders Circle at the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford, a Distinguished Fellow at Yale’s Jackson School of Global Affairs, and a Professor of Practice at the Adam Smith Center for Economic Freedom at Florida International University. He also serves as Distinguished Fellow at Cornell’s Emerging Markets Institute, the Atkinson Center for Sustainability, the World Resources Institute, the Bezos Earth Fund, and Barna Management School. A leading voice on hemispheric affairs and global strategy, Duque serves on the McKinsey Geopolitical Advisory Council and the McKinsey Sustainability Council, contributing to discussions on democratic resilience, energy security, global risk, and strategic investment. He also serves on the boards of Conservation International and the Science Based Targets initiative, and on the advisory board of the FIFA Foundation. Through the Iván Duque Center for Prosperity and Freedom and the I+D Foundation, he continues to advance innovation, leadership, and sustainable development across the Americas.
