Since March 11, 2026, he has served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile.
He studied Business Administration and Economics at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, where he received the Professor Óscar Balic Award as the top graduate of his class. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Chicago, United States, where he was awarded the Henry Ford II Prize for academic excellence and recognized by the Wall Street Journal in the field of finance.
He has over 45 years of experience in the private sector, serving as a senior executive in Chilean companies and leading their international expansion processes. He has also held senior leadership positions in companies in France and Germany, driving their global growth.
In the business community, he served as a director of the Chilean-American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Chile), and has been actively involved in civil society as a board member of foundations focused on education and public policy development.
In academia, he was a professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
