Chairman and CEO, East West Bank

Dominic Ng is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of East West Bank (Nasdaq: EWBC), the largest publicly listed independent bank headquartered in Southern California. Since joining the Bank in 1991, he has guided its transformation from a $600 million savings and loan association into a global full-service commercial bank with more than $80 billion in assets and over 600,000 customers. Today, East West serves as a leading financial bridge between the United States and Asia and has been recognized as the No. 1 best-performing large bank in the U.S. by S&P Global Market Intelligence and Bank Director.

Mr. Ng is an active participant in global economic dialogue. He served as Chair of the 2023 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Business Advisory Council, advising heads of state and government on economic growth and cross-border collaboration. He serves on the boards of Mattel, the University of Southern California, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).

His disciplined strategy and long-term vision have earned him numerous honors. American Banker named him Banker of the Year for executing bold growth while maintaining credit discipline. The Los Angeles Business Journal named him Business Person of the Year, and the Los Angeles Times included him on its L.A. Influential list. He also received the Alexis de Tocqueville Global Award, United Way Worldwide’s highest honor, as well as the Los Angeles World Affairs Council’s inaugural World Prize.

A strong advocate for the arts as a means of fostering cross-cultural understanding, Mr. Ng was a founding trustee of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, where he served two terms and chaired the Exhibitions and Collections Committee. His vision to bring contemporary Chinese art to broader audiences inspired a collaboration between East West Bank and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), contributing to the expansion of MOCA’s permanent collection. Under his leadership, East West Bank has supported major cultural institutions including LACMA, MOCA, The Broad, the Getty, The Huntington Library, the Asian Art Museum and the Bowers Museum.

Mr. Ng is a founding partner of First Light StoryHouse, an initiative that seeks to elevate Asian and Asian American creative voices worldwide. He has also positioned East West as the leading financial institution supporting U.S.-Asia cross-border entertainment finance for more than two decades.
