Asha Jadeja

Asha Jadeja Motwani is a Silicon Valley-based venture capitalist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist whose portfolio spans more than 200 technology companies, including early positions in Google, PayPal, Pinterest, Meraki, AppDynamics, and Mimosa. Alongside her late husband, Stanford computer scientist and Google mentor Prof. Rajeev Motwani, she was among Google's founding stakeholders and helped shape the company's earliest culture. She founded Dot Edu Ventures in 2000 to commercialize research emerging from leading U.S. universities, and today invests actively across artificial intelligence, defense technology, and the U.S.–India innovation corridor. Through the Motwani Jadeja Family Foundation, she directs a global portfolio of initiatives at the intersection of technology, entrepreneurship, and democratic institutions. In 2025, she established the Motwani Jadeja Institute for American Studies at O.P. Jindal Global University with a $5 million endowment — one of the largest private investments in American Studies in India — to deepen scholarship and exchange between the two democracies. Her foundation supports U.S.–India programs at the Hoover Institution, the Hudson Institute, and the Center for a New American Security, and she is a limited partner in more than twenty Bay Area venture funds as well as Acumen Fund and Kawisafi Ventures in Africa.
