Anastasia Peterson founded Levantar Global to build MENA's first institutional-scale Shari'ah-compliant private credit platform. The firm is raising $2 billion to address a structural financing gap across the Gulf, operating through a regulated multi-jurisdiction platform spanning Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. She is based across USA, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh.
Anastasia left a partnership at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP to launch Levantar, where she had become the youngest equity partner in the firm's 150-year history. She founded and co-chaired both the Global Private Credit Group and the Financial Services Group, executing over $100 billion of transactions for clients including Apollo Global Management, Bain Capital, and General Atlantic. Her landmark deals include the $8 billion sale of Credit Suisse's securitized products group, Apollo's $25 billion private credit partnership with Citibank, and the $5 billion BNP Paribas-Apollo partnership.
Named Financial Times Lawyer of the Year in 2025, Anastasia has been recognized by The Legal 500, Euromoney's Women in Business Law Awards, and Lawdragon's Next Generation 500. She serves on the board of Youth Renewal Fund and is a strategic advisor to companies across the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East.
