Tim Docking

CEO, Refugee Investment Network

Tim Docking is co-founder and CEO at the Refugee Investment Network (RIN), the first impact investing intermediary dedicated to creating long-term solutions to global forced migration. He also co-founded and leads the Anti-Trafficking Investment Network (ATIN). Prior to RIN, Tim was a business executive at the IBM Corporation where he worked at the intersection of business, technology and emerging markets. Earlier in his career he was part of the startup and executive team at the Millennium Challenge Corporation -- a U.S. government development agency centered on the radical idea of “reducing poverty through growth.” At the center of Tim's work is the development of efficient and effective models, like RIN and ATIN, that disrupt the traditional humanitarian and development paradigms by leveraging win/win private sector engagement that promotes self-reliance. Tim also has written and commented extensively on impact investing, forced displacement and violent conflict; testified before Congress on African affairs; and helped form and implement policy at the highest levels of government as a White House Fellow. Tim started his career as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mali, and he holds a Ph.D. in comparative politics from Boston University.
