Tariye Gbadegesin

CEO, Climate Investment Funds

Tariye Gbadegesin is the Chief Executive Officer of the Climate Investment Funds (CIF), one of the world’s largest multilateral climate funds with over US$12 billion in pledges received to date. In this role, she has been responsible for steering the CIF through the launch of a first-of-its-kind capital markets mechanism, to better support low- and middle-income countries in their transition to a low carbon, climate-smart future.Prior to this, Tariye was the CEO of ARM-Harith Infrastructure Investments, a leading Pan-African infrastructure fund investing in energy transitions and climate resilient infrastructure. She was also previously the Co-Chair of the Voluntary Carbon Markets Integrity Initiative (VCMI), an international organization enabling end-to-end, high-integrity carbon markets for climate action.Throughout her career she has worked at the International Monetary Fund, the Boston Consulting Group, and Price Waterhouse Coopers, and served in a range of climate and economic development organizations. She has been a member of the Climate Policy Initiative’s Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance, the Infrastructure Advisory Committee for the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investing, the African Advisory Board of the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ), and the Board of Advisors of the Columbia University Center on Global Energy Policy.She holds a BA in Economics from Amherst College, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
