Sandy Fernández (he/him) is a senior executive at the intersection of capital, technology, and inclusive growth. As Vice President at the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, he leads the Center’s U.S. small business strategy. He directs Strive USA, a $40 million investment strategy that has enabled over $45 billion in affordable capital to reach one million small businesses through digital tools and a nationwide network of community financial institutions. With leadership experience spanning Mastercard, JPMorgan Chase, and Citi, Sandy has shaped inclusive financial products, built national coalitions, and advised public, private, and philanthropic institutions on systemic strategies to unlock economic opportunity at scale. His work is focused on building human-centered, digitally enabled financial systems that expand access and resilience for underserved entrepreneurs. Sandy currently serves on the boards of Ascendus, Woodstock Institute, and the Stonewall Community Foundation, where he brings expertise in audit, finance, compensation, and long-term strategy. An Eisenhower Fellow and bilingual son of immigrants, he brings a values-forward approach to leadership rooted in equity, innovation, and long-term systems change.
