David Gross

Co-Managing Partner, Bain Capital

David Gross is Co-Managing Partner of Bain Capital. David’s expertise in private equity, financial services, and strategic investing has earned him recognition as a thought leader in these spaces. With his expertise, David has been invited to speak at industry events and take part in interviews with major news outlets, covering a wide range of topics such as leadership in times of volatility, investment strategy, and the impact of emerging technologies. At the 2025 Milken Institute Global Conference, David participated in a panel discussion, “The New Age of Private Equity,” which explored the evolution of private equity firms and strategies for adapting to and thriving in today’s changing market.

Bain Capital

In 2000, David joined private investment firm Bain Capital, a global leader in its space, which now has over $185 billion in assets under management. He helped found Bain Capital’s Asia business, playing a key role in expanding the firm’s presence across Asia. David has helped the firm achieve other major milestones, including the establishment of Bain Capital’s Macro team, which delivers macroeconomic insights and investment strategies firmwide.

Early Career and Education

Before joining Bain Capital, David worked with NEC Corporation and later as a consultant with Bain & Company. David earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Philanthropy

Alongside his professional career, David supports initiatives and organizations in the areas of health, education, and the arts. David is a board member at Berklee College of Music, Boston Children’s Hospital, and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He is also on the advisory board at the University of Pennsylvania School of Arts and Sciences, as well as the Kelly Writers House and the Center for the Advanced Study of India. He is also a board member of Italy-based professional football club, Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio.
