As the President and Chief Executive Officer of Parsons Corporation (NYSE: PSN), Carey Smith is responsible for the company’s strategy, growth, business execution, and global operations, and guides its ~16,000 employees operating in 26 countries in their mission to create the future of national security and global infrastructure. Smith joined Parsons in 2016 as President of the Federal Solutions business and was promoted successively to COO, and President and COO before being unanimously elected CEO by the board of directors and appointed to the position in July 2021. Prior to joining Parsons, Smith held a series of progressive leadership roles within the defense and aerospace industry, including President of the defense and space business unit with Honeywell and president and CEO of Lockheed Martin’s Canada operations. She began her career as a systems engineer. Smith holds an M.S. in electrical engineering from Syracuse University and a B.S. in electrical engineering from Ohio Northern University, and serves on the Board of Parsons Corporation and Edison International, along with the Board of Directors for three non-profit organizations.
