Steven J. Goulart, Executive Vice President & Chief Investment Officer, MetLife, and President, MetLife Investment Management. Named to this position in May 2011, Mr. Goulart oversees MetLife's $587 billion combined managed asset portfolio and more than 900 investment professionals globally. In 2012, he led the launch of MetLife Investment Management (MIM), MetLife's institutional asset management business, and serves as its President. He joined MetLife in 2006 to head the company's mergers & acquisitions unit and in 2009 was also named treasurer. In these roles, he oversaw the completion of capital financings exceeding $21 billion and fifteen strategic transactions, including the $16.4 billion acquisition of Alico. Prior to joining MetLife, Mr. Goulart held senior positions in investment banking at Bear Stearns, Morgan Stanley & Merrill Lynch. Mr. Goulart received a B.S. in business administration from the University of Pacific and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
