David Gilbert is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Clarion Partners, a specialty investment manager of Franklin Templeton focused on commercial real estate investment. He is a member of the Firm’s Executive Board, the Board of Directors for Clarion Partners Holdings, LLC, the Executive Board for Clarion Partners Management, and the Firm’s Investment Committee. He joined Clarion in 2007 after spending time in Managing Partner and Managing Director roles at JP Morgan Real Estate. Prior to his time with JP Morgan, he served as head of real estate at the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) where he directed a broad restructuring of the group's $6 billion real estate portfolio. David is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Pension Real Estate Association Foundation. He received his MBA from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania, and his B.B.A. from University of Massachusetts.
