John Mak is a social entrepreneur based in Hong Kong. Most recently, he has worked to promote public sector knowledge exchange between Hong Kong and Myanmar. Prior to his entrepreneurial work, John has broad experience in the public sector ecosystem. He was previously with the Hong Kong-based think tank Our Hong Kong Foundation. He has also undertaken internships in the Administrative Service of the Hong Kong Government, the Central and Western District Council and the political section of the Hong Kong Economic Times. In 2018, John was selected as an inaugural Obama Foundation Scholar, the only Scholar from Greater China. John sees himself as a bridge between sectors, cultures and across generations. He is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, an Asia 21 Young Leader and a former TEDx speaker. He obtained his Master's degree from The University of Chicago and holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Durham.
