Cheryl Platzman Weinstock is an award-winning journalist who reports about health and science research and its impact on society, with a focus on mental health, medical ethics issues, and the medical research gender gap. Her investigative pieces have brought attention to important issues about mental health and suicide, including the decades-long systemic shortcomings that have left suicide among children ages 5 to 11 poorly tracked and addressed. She has received numerous awards throughout her 40-year career, including the SAVE National Media Award for Excellence in Reporting on Suicide.
