Jeff McDermott is Global Co-Head of Investment Banking at Nomura Securities International, Inc., and Founder of Nomura Greentech. The Nomura Greentech team focuses exclusively on clients who are using 21st century technologies to accelerate the transformation of our core infrastructure systems - energy, transportation, food, water and waste - to be lower carbon, more efficient, and digitally networked. As Global Co-Head of Investment Banking at Nomura, Jeff is tasked with leading the expansion and growth of Nomura’s global investment banking department, with a particular focus on growing M&A advisory revenues in the Americas. A key element of Nomura’s strategy is to serve its global clients with superior advisory content, ideas and M&A execution services to help them navigate the megatrends of ESG/ sustainability and Fintech/digitization. Jeff has over three decades of experience working with Boards and Management teams to create enduring shareholder value through strategic action. Jeff was the Joint Global Head of Investment Banking at UBS prior to founding Greentech Capital Advisors, which was acquired by Nomura on April 1, 2020, and had successful careers at UBS, Salomon Brothers / Citi and Drexel Burnham Lambert. Jeff received his BA from the University of California, Berkeley, where he double majored in Economics and Political Science, and received his MBA from The Anderson School at UCLA.
