Mr. Koh was born in Seoul, Korea in 1962. He graduated from Seoul National University in 1985 and got Ph.D. degree in Economics at the American University in Washington D.C. in 1995. He started his career at the Ministry of Finance and Economy in 1986. He worked at International Finance Bureau and Economic Policy Bureau. From 2001, he worked at the Financial Services Commission of Korea (FSC).His positions include Director General of the Financial Policy Bureau, Secretary General of FSC. From 2016 to 2021, Mr. Koh worked as Member of the Monetary Policy Board of Bank of Korea. In August 2021, Mr. Koh was appointed as the Chairman of Financial Services Commission of Korea. From October, 2022, he is working at the Korea Capital Market Institute (KCMI) as visiting fellow.
