Marianne Anderson

Marianne Anderson works on the Lifetime Financial Security Program within the Finance pillar at the Milken Institute. She focuses on a range of issues related to financial well-being and retirement preparedness, including early wealth building, access to retirement savings plans, women's financial security, and global financial health. She began her career at the US Government Accountability Office, where she conducted oversight and policy analysis on financial sector and community investment issues for Congress, including banking and securities regulation, the Troubled Asset Relief Program, and consumer protection programs affecting households and businesses. She later spent more than a decade with the World Bank Group, working across the International Finance Corporation and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency. In these roles, she contributed to advisory programs and financing operations focused on finance, competitiveness, innovation, and private-sector development in emerging markets. During her tenure at the World Bank Group, she spent five years based in Asia, overseeing results measurement for the Asia-Pacific advisory portfolio within the World Bank Group's Finance, Competitiveness, and Innovation practice. Anderson holds a BA in anthropology, magna cum laude, from Bryn Mawr College, a master of public policy from the University of Chicago, and a certificate in international development evaluation from Carleton University.
