Vinicius Lummertz is a Senior Fellow at the Milken Institute since 2024 and a former Minister of Tourism of Brazil. He holds a degree in Political Science from the American University of Paris and has completed advanced management courses at Harvard University's Kennedy School and IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.
He served as Minister of Tourism during President Michel Temer's administration, President of the National Tourism Board from 2015 to 2018, and National Secretary of Tourism Policy at the Ministry of Tourism from September 2012 to May 2015. He also served as Technical Director of SEBRAE Nacional, the Brazilian Service of Support for Micro and Small Enterprises, from 1999 to 2002, and as Secretary of Tourism of the State of São Paulo.
Originally from the State of Santa Catarina, Mr. Lummertz has held various state-level positions, including State Secretary for Planning and Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), presided over state-owned companies, and led business associations. As a writer, he has contributed to numerous newspapers over the years, including HuffPost in Washington. He is currently a columnist for several media outlets, including Revista Exame, one of Brazil’s leading business magazines. He has authored books such as "Complexo Brazil, o difícil é fazer" and "Brasil, Potência Mundial do Turismo."
