Teruhide Sato is the Founder and CEO of BEENEXT, a venture capital firm based in Singapore that invests in the continued growth and development of Asia, supporting the next generation of technology entrepreneurs. Since 2015, the fund has invested in a total of 300 startups in Southeast Asia, India and Japan. Prior to BEENEXT, he was one of the founding members of former VeriTrans (now known as DG Financial Technology), one of the first online payment companies in Japan. From 2000 to 2014, he was the co-founder and CEO of BEENOS, and took the company public on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2004.
Outside of BEENEXT, Mr. Sato is an Executive Committee member of Silicon Valley Japan Platform, a Trustee of International House of Japan, Co-chair of Asia Leaders Fellowship, and Board of Endeavor Japan. He was selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2008. He studied in Italy at the United World College of the Adriatic, with the support from Keidanren Japan Business Federation and received his B.A. from Keio University.
