Robert Mensah Adjei is an economist at the Bank of Ghana with strong expertise in macroeconomic research, monetary policy analysis and financial sector developments. He has been with the Research Department since February 2016, working with the Monetary and Financial Statistics Office to provide Management with tailored policy measures to guide monetary policy decisions. He holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Economics from the University of Ghana and has undergone additional training in applied econometrics, macroeconomic modelling and monetary policy analysis. His core area of focus includes balance sheet analysis, interactions between monetary policy, money and capital markets and macroeconomic research.
Robert has been influential in the modelling of the Bank of Ghana’s balance sheet to identify cost-cutting measures and has served on ECOWAS and West African Monetary Agency (WAMA) technical committees responsible for the harmonization of monetary and financial statistics in the ECOWAS sub-region. Through the IFC-MI Institute’s Capital Markets Program, and an internship with Fitch Ratings, Robert has strengthened his analytical rigor, deepening his understanding of how rising tariffs and geopolitical tensions shape global trade dynamics and transmit through capital markets and sovereign risk profiles.
