Michelle Jubelirer is the founder of Soft Shock, a management and media collective
launched in 2025 with longtime collaborator Arjun Pulijal. Rooted in artist advocacy, Soft
Shock offers talent management, creative marketing services, brand creation, and
creative development/production/distribution across mediums.
Previously, Jubelirer was Chair & CEO of Capitol Music Group, where she became the
first woman to lead the label in its 80-year history and was named Billboard’s 2024
Women in Music Executive of the Year. At Capitol, she spearheaded the signings of
Doechii and Young Miko, guided Ice Spice’s rise to global stardom, Sam Smith and Kim
Petras’ Grammy-winning “Unholy,” and Paul McCartney’s return to the label. She also
secured deals with Quality Control and The Wave Music Group, and oversaw artists
collectively selling over 400 million albums worldwide.
Before Capitol, Jubelirer was a partner at King, Holmes, Paterno & Berliner, representing
M.I.A., Pharrell, Frank Ocean, Tyler, the Creator, and Avicii, among others. She began
her career in M&A law at Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett before joining Sony Music. A
graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and Fordham Law, she is also a dedicated advocate for
women’s reproductive rights, serving six years on Planned Parenthood’s Board of
Directors and is currently on the UCLA School of Music Board.
