Mezuo Nwuneli is an impact investor with over 25 years of experience in frontier markets and over 15-years within the agribusiness sector. He is Managing Partner of Sahel Capital, which backs primarily family-owned agribusiness SMEs in Africa with growth equity and private credit capital. Since 2010, he has focused on transforming Africa’s food and agribusiness sector to address food security and to ensure a resilient food ecosystem.
Mezuo also serves as an independent director on diverse boards in other sectors including MTN Nigeria Communications Plc, Hygeia HMO, and the African Private Capital Association (AVCA). He is also a Co-Founder and non-executive Chair of the board of two companies within the food and agricultural sector – AACE Foods and Sahel Consulting. He previously worked at AFIG Funds, Ocean & Oil Holdings, J.P. Morgan & Co, and Sabre Corp.
Mezuo holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School, and received a B.Sc. in Industrial Management, with a minor in Information Systems, from Carnegie Mellon University. He was recognized by his alma-mater in 2021 when he received the Harvard Business School Alumni Achievement Award. He is also an Eisenhower Fellow and an Archbishop Desmond Tutu Fellow.
