Maren Lau

Latin America Head, Meta

Maren Lau is Regional Vice President at Meta for Latin America, helping brands leverage the company's platforms and AI tools to drive long-term business results in the region. Maren also leads the global strategy for how brands leverage Meta's messaging apps as part of a holistic marketing strategy.  


Meta’s mission is to give people the power to build communities and bring the world closer together, and it seeks to have an economic and social impact in the region. It also fosters more diverse and inclusive societies, a goal which Maren champions, both internally and in Meta’s external ecosystem, as recognized with a Creative B2B Lion in Cannes in 2022 for Ads for Equality, a 4-year project to drive business results through more representative advertising. 


Maren leads teams in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and Miami, overseeing a sales presence in 18 countries. She joined the company in 2017 as Head of Agencies for Latin America, and prior to that Maren was partner and CMO at digital marketing company IMS, where she implemented sales and marketing strategies for global technology companies, helping scale operations in Latin America. 


Born in Maui, Hawaii, Maren graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University and holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Maren lives in São Paulo with her family and is an advisor to Fundação Amazônia Sustentável (Brazil-based NGO), board member of Junior Achievement Americas and a former board member of Nuvei Corporation (NVEI), a payments technology company.
