Kola Aina

Kola is the Founding Partner of Ventures Platform, a Pan-African early-stage venture capital firm with a strong track record of exits backing category-defining technology companies. He is an early investor in over 100 startups across Africa, India, and the United States, including Paystack, Moniepoint, MDaSS & OmniRetail. He has led the emergence of one of the continent’s most respected early-stage innovation platforms. Before venture capital, Kola founded and led Emerging Platforms, a leading enterprise software company in West Africa, giving him deep operator experience across technology and infrastructure. He brings a rare combination of founder insight, capital-allocation discipline, and strong relationships with private-sector leaders, regulators, and development institutions. Kola serves on the board of several financial and innovation-focused institutions and has played a leadership role in shaping Africa’s early-stage startup, innovation, and venture capital ecosystem. He is a member of YPO and a fellow of the Aspen Institute and the African Leadership Institute. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master's in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance. He has furthered his education at prestigious institutions such as Berkeley, Harvard, and the Lagos Business School and is a passionate supporter of African art and youth entrepreneurship.
