Joan Steinberg

President and Global Head, Philanthropy, Morgan Stanley Foundation

Joan Steinberg is the Global Head of Philanthropy, President of the Morgan Stanley Foundation and CEO of the Morgan Stanley Alliance for Children’s Mental Health. After nine years in the nonprofit sector, Ms. Steinberg joined Morgan Stanley in 1997. She currently oversees Morgan Stanley’s global philanthropic programs, including strategic planning and execution, employee engagement, and corporate and Foundation grantmaking totaling more than $100 million annually. More than 80% of the Firm’s 80,000+ employees are active in these programs. Ms. Steinberg currently also serves as Vice Chair of the board of the Hispanic Federation. Ms. Steinberg earned her undergraduate degree in English and Communications and her masters in Public Administration from Rutgers University. She has also earned certificates in corporate citizenship from Harvard Business School and Boston College.
