Jack Bobo

Jack Bobo is Executive Director of the UCLA Rothman Family Institute for Food Studies and an honorary professor at the University of Nottingham. A globally recognized expert on food systems, trust, and innovation, his work focuses on reducing polarization and strengthening public confidence in science and agriculture. He previously served as Director of the Food Systems Institute at Nottingham, Director of Global Food and Water Policy at The Nature Conservancy, CEO of Futurity, and spent over a decade at the U.S. Department of State leading international engagement on biotechnology, food security, and regulatory cooperation. Named one of Scientific American’s 100 most influential people in biotechnology and recipient of the Borlaug CAST Communication Award, he is the author of Why Smart People Make Bad Food Choices. Jack has delivered more than 1,000 speeches in over 50 countries and leads Nudge the Planet, advancing a more sustainable, nutritious, and equitable food future.
