Gemma brings decades of expertise in sustainability and international development, a systems-thinking approach, a strong global network, and a track record in natural capital and impact investing.
During her tenure at Federated Hermes, as Head of Policy and ESG, she led the firm’s climate and nature strategy, engagement, and thought leadership. She was responsible for ESG integration and stewardship capabilities across all asset classes to ensure investment products met the highest regulatory and industry standards. She helped launch one of the first biodiversity funds globally in collaboration Natural History Museum. She regularly advises policy makers, regulators, corporates and Sovereign Wealth Funds globally on these subjects.
Prior to this, Gemma worked for a decade as a senior economist at the World Economic Forum, where she spearheaded many flagship benchmarking and thought leadership products. Gemma is a Global Leadership Fellow of the WEF and the Explorers Club. She has an Executive MBA in Leadership from INSEAD, an MSc in Political Economy of International Development from the London School of Economics and a BA in Economics from Barnard College, Columbia University.
