Ednilson Sousa is a strategic finance professional with over eight years of progressive experience in capital markets development in emerging markets, privatization, public asset management and financial policy. He is a graduate of the IFC–Milken Institute Capital Markets Program at Georgetown University, which included an internship at WorldQuant, where he further deepened his knowledge in alternative investments and global financial markets. Throughout his career, Ednilson has played a pivotal role in shaping Angola’s financial landscape.
As Head of SOE Oversight at IGAPE - the country’s state equity management authority - he has led the restructuring and listing of major state-owned enterprises through IPOs and M&A transactions, including major financial companies. Prior to IGAPE, Ednilson served at the Ministry of Finance and the Angola Stock Exchange (BODIVA), where he contributed to macroprudential policy design, debt sustainability frameworks, and the development of market infrastructure to reach global standards. His work has consistently bridged public-sector reform with private capital mobilization.
He holds an MSc in Global Financial Trading from Coventry University and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Salford. His technical background is reinforced by certifications from the IMF, SEC, Bloomberg, Euromoney, and others, covering areas such as capital markets, sovereign risk, and monetary policy.
Fluent in Portuguese and English, Ednilson brings a data-driven, impact-oriented approach to financial decision-making across complex financial ecosystems.
