Editha Mshiu is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Freshpack Technologies, an AI-driven manufacturing company developing affordable cold-chain solutions for informal food markets across Africa. Her work focuses on reducing post-harvest food loss, strengthening local manufacturing capacity, and improving income stability for small-scale vendors through technology and data-driven infrastructure. Under her leadership, Freshpack has deployed thousands of cooling units across multiple East African markets, helping vendors reduce spoilage and increase earnings while improving the efficiency of regional food supply chains. Editha is passionate about leveraging innovation and entrepreneurship to address food waste, climate challenges, and economic inclusion in emerging markets.

Her work has received international recognition, including winning first place in the AYuTe Africa Challenge supported by Heifer International and being named Startup of the Year in the TotalEnergies Startupper Challenge. She has also been selected for prestigious global programs such as the Halcyon Climate Fellowship and the Commonwealth Fellowship, and was a finalist for the Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation by the Royal Academy of Engineering in the United Kingdom. Through these initiatives and partnerships with global development organizations, she continues to advance technology-driven solutions that strengthen food systems and expand economic opportunities for women entrepreneurs across Africa.
