Dipen Parekh

Dipen J. Parekh, M.D., is a globally recognized healthcare leader, urologic oncologist, robotic surgeon, and an innovator. He serves as CEO of the University of Miami health system, UHealth, and EVP for Health Affairs at the University of Miami since June 1, 2025. He is the Founding Director of the Desai Sethi Urology Institute and holds the Victor A. Politano Endowed Chair and Magnier family Endowed Chair in Urology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. A pioneering surgeon and researcher, Dr. Parekh has performed more than 6,000 robotic urologic cancer procedures worldwide. He led the landmark RAZOR trial, published in The Lancet, demonstrating robotic-assisted radical cystectomy is as effective as open surgery for bladder cancer. An NCI-funded surgeon-scientist, he has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications and established advanced robotic surgery programs internationally. His contributions have been recognized with the American Urological Association Gold Cystoscope Award and induction into the American Association of Genitourinary Surgeons, the Clinical Society of Genitourinary Surgeons, and the Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine of Florida. Recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as a top academic health system COO in 2024 and the top 10 CEOs to know in 2025, he continues to advance surgical innovation, patient care, and healthcare leadership on a global scale.
