Benjamin Clark

Ben leads investment strategy and capital allocation for Spotlight Group Investments, the private investment office of one of Australia's largest privately owned groups, the Spotlight Group. Since joining the firm in 2020, Ben has overseen portfolio construction and manager selection across a diversified, endowment-style mandate that spans global equities, private equity, hedge funds, real estate, and credit. In addition to managing the core portfolio, Ben holds active leadership roles as Managing Director of Valara Partners Fund, a private credit vehicle focused on structured and asset-backed lending, and as Co-Portfolio Manager of VSFF Fund, a multi-strategy US real estate fund. Prior to his tenure at Spotlight, Ben held senior investment positions at Wingate and Monark Property Partners, specializing in private credit. He began his career in the Banking & Finance practice at a leading Australian law firm, Arnold Bloch Leibler, where he built a strong technical foundation in complex financing, structuring, and deal execution. Ben holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Business (Banking and Finance) from Monash University.
