With more than 15 years of experience at the intersection of public health, policy and strategy, Dr. Allison Goldberg leads social impact investments that advance health equity and resilience. She focuses on how capital, partnerships, and policy can work together to improve health outcomes and strengthen systems in underserved communities.
As President of the Merck Foundation and head of Merck’s Global Impact Investing and Giving (GIIG) team, Dr. Goldberg oversees a global portfolio of social investments to expand access to health. Her work spans corporate and foundation philanthropy, product donations, and employee engagement, with an emphasis on community-driven approaches that are responsive to local priorities and built for sustainable impact.
Dr. Goldberg’s expertise includes social impact, public health, and cross-sector partnerships. She collaborates across the public, private, non-profit and multi-lateral sectors to ensure resources reach the communities that need them most.
Dr. Goldberg has published and spoken widely on strategies to address public health and societal challenges and has lectured at Columbia University, where she earned her Ph.D. in Public Health and Political Science and her M.A. in Sociomedical Sciences and Political Science.
