Adama Kah is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Investment Officer of Kah Capital Management. He has over 20 years of capital markets and portfolio management experience in U.S. housing finance, including senior roles at Freddie Mac and on both the buy and sell sides of Wall Street. Over his career, he has managed large multi-billion-dollar investment portfolios and trading desks and helped develop innovative mortgage structures and solutions that were key to the growth of major segments of the U.S. mortgage market.
Prior to founding Kah Capital in 2018, Adama led Freddie Mac’s $130+ billion portfolio of distressed mortgage loans and securities. He built this business within Freddie Mac’s Capital Markets division in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis and managed it until his departure in 2018 to start Kah Capital Management. During this time, he pioneered GSE-originated sales and securitizations of non-performing and reperforming mortgage loans.
Earlier, he led Freddie Mac’s adjustable-rate mortgage (ARM) investment portfolio, growing it from $80 billion to over $100 billion between 2007 and 2011 during a turbulent period in U.S. housing markets.
Adama began his career at Freddie Mac in financial research and later held capital markets roles at Times Square Capital Management and Credit Suisse.
Adama holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. in Quantitative Finance from The George Washington University, where he was also a member of the NCAA Division I men’s basketball team.
