Part 1: Life After Sport: What Do Elite Athletes Do Next?

While some former professional athletes forge roles as commentators, coaches, managers or public speakers once their competitive sports lives are over, many more find it difficult to make the transition to employment off the playing field. Perceived as lacking the relevant experience or qualifications, they struggle to find meaningful jobs. But increasingly, leading employers, such as EY and Citigroup, are recognizing that these elite athletes' underlying abilities—skills such as goal setting, teambuilding, and persistence—can be harnessed to add energy and value and to their businesses. This panel gathers former athletes who have become successful business leaders and will show what it takes to win outside the stadium.
