Global Investors' Symposium São Paulo 2025

Part 2: A Dialogue on Strategic Recalibration for Scale

-

The magnitude of scale and cost to fight climate change is unlike anything humans have previously confronted. Developing countries on the frontline of resilience and adaptation-related challenges already face significant economic headwinds, including extreme poverty and debt vulnerabilities. Negotiators at COP29 reaching a consensus around mobilizing $300 billion annually for investment in developing countries was no small feat; but what lies ahead in the actual mobilization of capital to achieve consensus goals around effective mitigation and adaptation will be a challenge like no other. This session, a partnership between the Milken Institute and the International Finance Corporation, brings together diverse views from global leaders on how best to deploy scarce public funding to catalyze private capital in the years ahead.
