Author Talk: Susan Morrison, "Lorne: The Man Who Invented Saturday Night Live"

-

Over the fifty years that Lorne Michaels has been at the helm of Saturday Night Live, he has become a revered and inimitable presence in the entertainment world. He’s a tastemaker, a mogul, a withholding father figure, a genius spotter of talent, a shrewd businessman, a name-dropper, a raconteur, the inspiration for Dr. Evil, the winner of more than a hundred Emmys—and, essentially, a mystery.

In this talk with the author of Lorne, Susan Morrison will unravel that mystery. Granted unprecedented access to the SNL apparatus and the man himself, Susan Morrison will reveal how Michaels created and maintained the institution that changed comedy forever, and share highlights of 50 years of Saturday night laughter. In conversation with Susan is Laraine Newman, one of the original SNL cast members (and still one of the funniest).

As with all Global Conference public sessions, registration is not required to attend an Author Talk, but seating is limited. Seats will be open to the first 50 attendees. We recommend Conference attendees add any Author Talks of interest to your agenda. If you cannot attend the Author Talk or are solely interested in the book signing portion, we encourage you to come to the Global Conference on-site bookstore managed by Barnes & Noble for the final 20 minutes of the scheduled hour.

Books featured in the Author Talks and Book Signings are available for purchase at the on-site bookstore.
