Great Expectations: Retirement in the New Old Age

With longer lives and cultural shifts, the future of retirement will look very different. For some, retirement will provide security and new opportunities for work, learning, engagement, and travel. For others, the picture is darker. In the US, only half of adults over age 50 have more than $100,000 saved for retirement, while one out of four workers have no retirement savings at all. Women and people of color too often find themselves on the wrong side of this growing retirement gap. Public policies, private sector practices, and individual behaviors must change to address the challenges and realize the opportunities. This panel of leaders will discuss ideas and actions to ensure better futures for the current generation of retirees and the generations to come.
