Joy Lo Cheung

Joy Lo Cheung is Chairwoman of the Lo Kwee Seong Foundation (LKSF), a Hong Kong family foundation that uses catalytic philanthropy to build individual and institutional capacity, revitalise communities, and influence systemic change on complex problems. LKSF gives across six areas: art and museum, scientific research, education, entrepreneurship, careers, and community. The Foundation funds research into climate-resilient soybeans as a source of global food security, farmer income, and human and planetary health – carrying forward Dr. Lo’s conviction that good nutrition (Vitasoy) belongs within reach of ordinary families. The CUHK Lo Kwee Seong Art Pavilion promotes Chinese art and culture through exhibitions, school tours, and artist-in-residence workshops. The Lo Kwee Seong Technopreneurship Fund, with the HKUST Entrepreneurship Center, helps faculty and students build ventures from research, gaining adaptability and resilience for any career. LKSF also supports Light Be Upward Mobility, which pairs families with transitional housing and coaching in financial stability and emotional well-being. Ms. Lo speaks regularly at Asian family wealth, legacy, and philanthropy forums on how multigenerational families can carry a founder’s purpose into giving that meets emergent needs. She is an alumna of Cornell University, the Kellogg-HKUST Executive MBA Program, and an Honorary Fellow of the CUHK.
