Chief Mission Strategy Officer, JDRF
Cynthia Rice

Cynthia Rice is the Chief Mission Strategy Officer for JDRF, the leading global organization harnessing the power of research, advocacy, and community engagement to advance life-changing breakthroughs for type 1 diabetes (T1D). At JDRF, she has led initiatives to accelerate the development, regulatory approval, and health care access for groundbreaking technologies that use data and algorithms to help people with diabetes improve glucose control. She has also led teams to advance cures for T1D by influencing government, regulatory, and health policies. JDRF, formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, was founded more than 50 years ago -- and is still governed -- by volunteers personally affected by T1D. Before joining JDRF in 2005, Ms. Rice held senior positions in both the government and nonprofit sectors, including serving as a policy advisor in both The White House and the U.S. Senate. She has a master’s degree in public policy from the University of California at Berkeley and a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University.
